REMARKS: Possible oil was observed in satellite imagery. This anomaly is unconfirmed as oil. The possible oil was located in the Eugene Island Area of Louisiana. It measured approximately 2.96 nmi in length and up to 1.01 nmi in width. The slick appeared dark and showed high contrast against its surroundings. Winds at the time of image were from the south at 8 knots, aligning well with the orientation of the slick. This anomaly was attached to a platform and was likely associated with NOAA NRC Report #1434661. Confidence was determined to be high given the association with a reported incident in the area and high contrast to the background.
