DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1530Z June 23, 2025
SMOKE: Alaska/Yukon/Central Canada/Central and Eastern United States/Atlantic Ocean… Wildfire activity across Alaska and northwestern Canada continued to generate smoke which spread over North America and the Atlantic. Thick to moderate density smoke was seen moving east from Alaska and the Yukon, British Columbia and Northwestern Territories into Alberta and Saskatchewan, and south int the western states into California. Light density smoke in the central and eastern U.S. was carried northeast, merging with smoke from Alaska and Canadian fires. Northern Mexico/Southwestern United States/Rocky Mountains... Fires in northern Baja California, New Mexico, and Utah produced moderate to thick smoke which moved northeast joining with smoke from Alaska and Canada. Mills THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
